Do NOT let yourself go out of the house without a bottle of water and a snack in your purse, pocket or backpack. PLAN to succeed. You CAN overcome the temptation to eat bad foods by being prepared with good foods.
Fresh Fruit – Apples, Oranges, Bananas, etc.
Nuts – A handful of almonds balances blood sugar nicely. I try to always have a ziplock bag of almonds in my purse or vehicle.
I make my own trail mix with raw nuts and seeds to carry with me. It is especially good with a handful of Ningxia Wolfberries added to the mix! I typically use almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and Young Living Wolfberries. Raisins and dates are options, too, but sparingly and not at all if you are battling candida or any yeast/fungal symptoms.
Applesauce, organic and unsweetened I like it plain, but for variety, I put Sweetleaf English Toffee Stevia in it and it tastes like a sweet luscious treat.
Water with a flavored stevia from SweetLeaf in it. One of my favorites in ice water is English Toffee Stevia. (Most of us are dehydrated and often mistake hunger for the need for water.)
Raw cheddar cheese is excellent with apples.
Once Again Almond Butter is wonderful with apples. It is unsweetened and has no bad oils added to it.
Homemade cookies and other treats made with coconut flour, almond flour and natural sweeteners like stevia and birch xylitol. (See my recipes.)

Larabars are wonderful, but since they are mainly dates with some nuts, I limit them. They are a little too high in natural sugars and carbs, but if I am on the go, it is far superior to the typical grain/carb snacks I used to eat. FYI – There is one that tastes just like Pecan Pie, but obviously not syrupy or gooey. It has really helped me to not feel sorry for myself when others are eating corn syrup pecan pie!
Some Larabars have added sugar, so be sure to read the ingredients! I think it is mainly the ones with chocolate chips, which I do not buy.
